Upgrade the rear lighting on your Classic Mini while retaining the original appearance of the factory rear lamp units.

This IPNG Automotive LED rear light conversion kit is designed for Mk2 and Mk3 Classic Mini saloons produced from 1967–1975, including both Roundnose and Clubman models fitted with the earlier rear light units without reverse lights.

This conversion replaces the original bulb contacts with bright LED boards while retaining the original lamp housings and lenses. Once installed, the exterior appearance remains original.

The low mounting position of the original Mini rear lights can make them less noticeable in modern traffic. These high-output LEDs provide a much brighter and more immediate light output, helping your Mini remain clearly visible while preserving the period look.

Vehicle Fitment

Classic Mini Mk2 / Mk3 Saloon — 1967–1975

Suitable for both Roundnose Mini saloons and Mini Clubman saloons fitted with the earlier rectangular rear lamp assemblies without integrated reverse lights.

Installation

Installation is straightforward and uses the vehicle's original rear lamp units.

Remove the original bulb contacts from the existing lamp assemblies and feed the new wiring through the original openings. The LED boards then slide into position within the lamp units.

The supplied galvanised steel lens dividers fit into the original lenses and clamp the LED boards securely into position once the lenses are refitted.

Each board has its wiring colours and functions documented directly on the rear to make identification during installation straightforward.

The earth connection is designed to mount discreetly to one of the four original rear lamp fixing studs.

The Lucas connectors then connect directly to the vehicle's existing wiring loom, meaning no cutting or alteration of the original loom is required.

Important Note

Depending on your vehicle's existing indicator system, fitting LED indicators may cause the indicators to flash at an incorrect rate.

An LED-compatible indicator relay is available separately to provide the appropriate flashing interval where required.
