The Honda Civic Type-R EP3 is well suited to enthusiastic driving, but repeated heavy braking can generate significant heat within the braking system. Effective brake cooling can therefore become increasingly important, particularly during track days, spirited driving or repeated high-speed braking.

These fog lamp air intake scoops provide a clean and practical way of introducing fresh outside air directly into a brake cooling system.

The scoops replace the original fog lamp components and use the existing mounting locations, allowing 50mm ducting to be routed from the front of the vehicle towards the braking assembly.

The outlet is positioned at 90 degrees, helping simplify the routing of the ducting and reducing the need to work around the front structure of the vehicle.

While the scoops can also be used as an air source for other applications, their primary purpose is directing fresh airflow towards the brakes to assist with brake cooling.

Installation

Tools Required: Phillips screwdriver, flathead screwdriver or plastic trim clip removal tool, 8mm or 10mm socket/spanner, and optionally WD-40 for rusted screws

Installation requires removal and refitting of the front bumper to access the original fog lamp fixing locations.

Once the original fog lamp components have been removed, the scoops can be installed using the existing Honda fog lamp mounting locations. No permanent modification to the vehicle is required.

The installation is fully reversible, allowing the scoops to be removed and the vehicle returned to its original configuration if required.
